Terms of Service

1. Service and operator

Citet is a collaborative LaTeX editor operated by Stefan Müller. Operator details are in the operator notice. This installation is currently a restricted pilot. It does not provide a paid subscription checkout or a contractual uptime commitment. Any future paid offering needs separate, clearly disclosed pricing and purchase terms.

2. Your account

Keep your credentials secure and report suspected account compromise to security@citet.eu. University sign-in authenticates your identity; it does not grant access to another person's project. Project access depends on membership and permissions.

You can close your account from the account page. Account records are removed and deletion of projects you own and their stored objects is queued. Other people's projects remain; a shared organization's ownership can pass to a remaining member. Export content you want to keep before deletion. 3. Acceptable use

• Use only content you are entitled to store, share, and process.
• Do not upload unlawful content or infringe other people's rights.
• Do not bypass permissions, access other people's projects without authorization, or interfere with the service.
• Use compilation for typesetting documents. Do not use it for mining, denial-of-service attacks, or unrelated computation.

Report unlawful content to hello@citet.eu and security issues privately to security@citet.eu. We may restrict access when necessary to address abuse, unlawful activity, or security incidents. We provide a reason and an opportunity to resolve the issue where appropriate and permitted by law.

4. Your content and optional services

You retain your rights in uploaded content. You authorize the processing necessary to store, edit, compile, and deliver it to you and authorized collaborators. Collaborators with access can make their own copies. Optional backup, citation, and AI services process data when you use them; check their terms before sending confidential or regulated research data.

Keep independent backups of important work. Maintenance, outages, and software defects can affect availability or data. The service has no guarantee of uninterrupted availability.

5. Legal rights and disputes

These terms do not exclude rights or remedies required by applicable law, including consumer and data protection rights. Liability is determined under applicable law. Swedish law applies to the hosted citet.eu service, subject to mandatory protections applicable in your country of residence. Disputes may be brought before the courts competent under applicable law.

6. Changes and ending use

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may change or discontinue pilot features. Updated terms are published here with their effective date; changes do not remove rights you already have under mandatory law.
